Job Summary
• Develop and implement deal origination strategies to ensure a strong and sustainable investment banking transaction pipeline. • Identify, develop, and originate bankable investment banking opportunities that address clients’ funding, advisory, and strategic objectives, including equity, debt, and structured financing solutions. • Lead, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key business decision-makers, sponsors and investors to drive deal flow, facilitate capital raising, and position the firm’s full suite of investment banking services positively in the market. • Proactively identify, engage, and manage relationships with local and international investors, financial institutions, and capital providers to support successful capital raising, placement, execution and closure of originated transactions.
Job Details
- Identify and originate investment banking mandates from existing and prospective corporate, and government clients.
- Complementary partnership with Executives & Business Heads to enhance origination.
- Source opportunities across capital markets (including debt and equity capital raising), financial advisory (including mergers and acquisitions, divestments, corporate/debt restructuring) and project and structured finance.
- Conduct high-level assessment of clients’ financials, growth plans, and capital needs to support origination efforts.
- Maintain awareness of business, economic, and capital market developments relevant to deal origination and distribution.
- Identify and communicate relevant market trends, opportunities, and performance drivers to clients and internal teams and work towards enhancing GCML market positioning / reputation
- Lead /Co-lead client engagement from initial discussions and pitch presentations as well as ensuring all originated transactions are structured in line with approved products and internal policies.
- Coordinate with execution teams to ensure effective delivery of transactions from conception to completion.
- Provide strategic direction for deal origination and offer placement/distribution in alignment with the overall Investment Banking strategy.
- Take responsibility for origination and distribution performance and contribution to the Investment Banking unit’s revenue targets.
- Drive growth by leveraging Greenwich’s service lines and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
- Proactively develop relationships with key external stakeholders including regulators relevant to the business.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders including Head of Research, Head of other subsidiaries within the Group, etc. with the intention of breaking down silos to maximize business growth within the Greenwich ecosystem.
- In collaboration with the Head of Human Capital, Executives and other Business Heads of GCML, support people strategy with a focus on talent development and retention.
- Oversee performance management and contribute to appraisal outcomes within the Origination and Distribution team.
Requirements
- University degree in a business-related discipline.
- Master’s degree in Finance/related discipline or a recognized professional financial certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CFA) would be an advantage.
- Minimum of ten (10) years cognate working experience in investment banking origination, corporate banking, or related roles.
